Free will discussion
Onegoodmove http://onegoodmove.org/1gm/1gmarchive/001873.html#001873 on free will and the morality of the death penalty. There are centuries of thought on free will in Christian theology. http://geneva.rutgers.edu/src/christianity/predest.html Now I'm only a semi-literate hillbilly so what do I know - but I feel the death penalty is immoral for many reasons including that we humans do not understand the mystery of free will. Now neuroscience is explaining brain processes better all the time, but consciousness still seems to have some mystery about it. I might have to revise my feelings about the mystery of free will at some time in the future, but I don't think that the science is quite there yet, I mean to say that there is no mystery.
